Hellenistic Astrology

Hellenistic astrology is a tradition of horoscopic astrology developed from the 1st century BC and practiced in the late Hellenistic period in and around the Mediterranean. It is the basis from where modern, western astrology draws its techniques.

Most people know their Sun sign, but people are so much more than a single symbol. By studying the planets, placements, and aspects in your Natal Chart, you gain insight into your character, strengths, and weaknesses. Understanding your personal horoscope can illuminate the patterns and cycles of your life.

Why Retrograde Astrology?

A retrograde signifies a period when a planet appears to be moving backward from our perspective on Earth. We interpret that, in astrology, as a time of reflection and introspection. A turning inward of the energy so we can better understand it. Is not an error of celestial mechanics but a deliberate punctuation in the endless cycles of planetary energy playing out in the sky. And that is my approach to reading the stars.

Knowledge is Power

Remember, the planets do not dictate our moves, they simply reveal the energetic patterns at play. That’s the beauty of astrology. It is a cosmic weather report that allows us to prepare for potential energetic storms on the horizon. Armed with knowledge it is then our choice how we press forward.

About

My name is Katie Salidas

As an astrologer, I consider myself less a fortune-teller and more a reader of the planetary cycles. My role is not to predict dazzling futures with comic-book clarity but to help people navigate the peculiar gravity wells that form as a planet cycles through its assigned corner of the zodiac.

When Mercury slips into retrograde, as it often does through the year, and the world blames it for every lost email or missed connection, I see an opportunity for my clients (and myself) to slow down and see if there might be something, dare I say cosmic, trying to help nudge us toward a new and better path.

The most meaningful revelations I’ve witnessed happen in silence. A client's eyes widening as their own timeline clicks into place, or tears marking the moment that client recognizes themselves not as victims of fate but active participants in shaping their stories.

My approach is less prophecy than pattern recognition. I like to find where past decisions echo in current dilemmas. I pinpoint the cycles and use them as a roadmap to understand what to expect next. That philosophy has served me well, not just professionally but personally, as I have stumbled through my own cycles of advance and retreat.
